My name is Ayat, and I have a PhD in Computational Condensed Matter Physics. Telling my story would be much easier if I begin with a brief introduction about my field of study. So please bear with me!
As a simple but general definition, in condensed matter physics we study complex systems which have a large number of interactions between their constituent parts, such as bulk materials with numerous interactions between their molecules and atoms. Due to the order of interactions, such a system cannot be studied analytically! In order to explore the behavior of these kinds of systems, scientists have invented several statistical and computational methods to address this subject. An interesting fact that might be surprising for you is that the economy, financial markets, or even societies may all be viewed as complex systems with lots of interactions between their components! This resemblance has made an interest among physicists to develop new approaches for studying such systems with the aim of statistical methods that have already been created for studying complex systems in physics. These combinations have created new interdisciplinary fields of studies in the past decades, such as Social Physics and EconoPhysics.
Back to my story; I am one of those interested physicists whose passion for financial data, Machine Learning/Deep Learning algorithms, and also programming, lead him to start a long journey! At this time, I’m working as a freelance data scientist and algorithmic trader. I’m developing ML/DL and statistical models based on financial datasets to make profitable trading/investing algorithms.
In this blog, I introduced some of the works that I have done in the past years, in a manner that is useful for beginners and interested people who want to know about Algo-Trading. Although you can find some introductory subjects in my blog’s posts, I must indicate that the purpose of this blog is to act as my portfolio, and not to give you any financial advice or invite you to be a market trader!
